Celebrating Our Team: 15 Years of Joe – Through the Eyes of the Managing Director at IM Export Services

Fifteen years ago, we put a simple job ad up at the local job centre and had no idea it would end up being one of the best decisions we’d make.

Joe turned up to the interview (an 18-year-old lad from Ireland, covered in tattoos and speaking in an accent so thick we could barely keep up). Luckily for Joe, IM Export Services back then wasn’t too bothered about formalities. As long as you had arms, legs and the right attitude, you were in. So, we decided to take Joe on.

The early years were… interesting. Joe was young, loud and enthusiastic and I’m sure he’d admit, still trying to figure out his own career aspirations. At one point, he even joined the army but quickly realised that running and jumping jacks weren’t for him. A week later, he was back and that’s when things really started to take a turn.

Joe started a family, knuckled down and his work ethic went from strength to strength. He took on more responsibility without needing to be asked and we noticed.

His journey through IM Export Services has been something else. Starting out as a case maker, to then working in the warehouse as a supervisor, then moving into the office and now our Operations Director.

IM Exports Services is what it is today thanks to a lot of people old and new, but Joe’s had a real impact in shaping the business.

Here’s to 15 years of Joe. Built on graft, loyalty and importantly a good sense of humour.

Joe Nolan, Director, said: “I can’t believe how fast these last fifteen years have gone, it feels like only yesterday was my first day. I’m really proud of having worked at IM Export Services, from starting with little experience and moving to a new country, to now leading the operations department, it’s definitely been an exciting journey.

15 years later, here's Joe, our Company Director at IM Export Services
