Role: Cardboard Production Operative

Location: Redditch

Rate: £10.92p/h (with competitive pay scales)

About us: IM Export have been designing and manufacturing bespoke timber cases, crates, and pallets since 2004. Since then, we have expanded our export services to offer packing, cardboard, storage, consumables, and Freight Forwarding. We have major customers across all sectors including medical, industrial, aerospace, and automotive.

The Role: As an IM Export Cardboard Production Operative you will work with our existing teams to create large cardboard boxes for the successful packing of goods. Said goods will either be stored or transported, and your constructions will be instrumental in ensuring they remain in pristine condition and fully secure. You will be responsible for the safe operation of the box making machines ensuring all orders are produced in a timely fashion and to our company’s exacting standards.

The Duties:

  • Receiving job cards from Production Management team.

  • Check job cards for processing.

  • Ensure the withdrawal of required tools and materials.

  • Enter relevant dimensions into relevant machinery to proceed with job.

  • Production of ‘first off’ before complete batch.

  • Quality control checks of ‘first off’ and entire batch.

  • After production complete, recording appropriate details and checks onto cutting list and signing for quality control.

  • Transfer completed boxes to relevant packing area or storage facility.

  • Return job cards to Production Management team as applicable.

  • Clean down of work area, equipment, and tools as necessary.

  • Return any tools and materials upon completion of production job.

  • Remove all scrap and rubbish (keeping scrap to a minimum wherever possible).

Your Requirements:

  • Practically minded and basic DIY skill essential. Full training will be given to all candidates.

  • Cardboard/Machinery experience preferable.

  • Detail-orientated, thorough, mindful of safety protocols and quality requirements, team player and dedicated.
