About us:

IM Export Services has been designing and manufacturing bespoke timber cases, crates, and pallets since 2004. Since then, we have expanded our export services to offer packing, cardboard, storage, consumables, and Freight Forwarding. We have major customers across all sectors, including medical, industrial, aerospace, and automotive.

 

We provide all the usual benefit's including full training, company uniform, toolbox talks, as well as social events when possible. We keep a friendly, professional atmosphere within the workshop and are looking for a keen individual to join our ever-growing team. The role:

We’re looking for a responsible and committed individual to join our export packing team. You should have a good understanding of securing cargo, including knowledge of the centre of gravity, and be prepared to work away from home as needed. We offer strong incentives and good packages to make this a rewarding role. Experience in export packing is ideal, but a background in the exhibition or events industry is also highly valued.

As an export packer, you’ll play a vital role in preparing a wide range of goods for international shipping. This includes wrapping, crating, and securing cargo to meet global standards and client requirements. You’ll also travel to various locations in the UK and possibly abroad, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pack, wrap, and crate goods for international shipment

  • Ensure items are secured properly, with awareness of weight distribution and centre of gravity

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely

  • Complete packing lists and basic shipping documentation

  • Travel to client sites and work independently or as part of a team

  • Load/unload shipments and support with logistics on-site

 

Your requirements:

  • Familiarity with cargo security and packing methods

  • Ability to work away from home, including overnight stays

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in export packing or the exhibition/events industry is desirable

  • Full UK driving licence preferred
